Culture & Leadership Principles

These are our guiding principles of how every leader is to operate and how every individual that wants to be a leader has to operate.

It is to guide how things are done, what’s expected, what’s allowed, what’s unacceptable. It’s how we communicate. It’s how we act.

Flow SC’s Culture & Leadership Principles:

  • 1. Customer focus

Leaders always have their ears to the ground and are close to the customers. This is where learning, innovation, and growth come from. Understanding customers’ needs and roadblocks to customers’ growth is the primary input used by leaders to drive their teams and the company forward.

  • 2. Focus on people

Leaders develop their people and teach them to use their intelligence to bring understanding and solutions that move the entire company forward, not just themselves. Leaders also don’t let loyalty to people stand in the way of truth and the well-being of the organization. Leaders spend time developing other leaders.

  • 3. Frugality/Katkasari

Accomplish more with less. Everything is possible even with the smallest resource pool. Leaders ensure that their people are innovative, self-sufficient, resilient in the face of circumstances, and achieve results with frugal means.

  • 4. Solve problems and simplify

Leaders solve problems, find solutions, and simplify for their people, business partners, and customers. They break down problems into smaller pieces - look for solutions internally and externally, enable all ranks of their people to think and provide solutions. Leaders ensure that problems are fixed so they stay fixed.

  • 5. Fail Forward

Leaders know the difference between good and bad failure. Leaders encourage risk-taking and make room for failure and, more importantly, the opportunity to learn from failure. It is okay to make mistakes but unacceptable not to learn from them.

  • 6. Accountability

Leaders understand and reinforce that accountability is not simply taking the blame when something goes wrong. Accountability is about delivering on a commitment, it’s about taking ownership and making it happen. Leaders always act on behalf of the company, beyond themselves and beyond their personal or team KRAs. Leaders are resilient and driven, and despite circumstances – deliver on commitments. Outcomes over outputs. Be proud of your work.

  • 7. Trust

Leaders strive to build trust through transparency and consistency on an everyday basis with customers, business partners, and employees. They follow through. There are no favorites, there is no over-selling or over-committing.
